2D vs. 3D: What’s the Difference?

2D Pin: Has two levels (Raised metal and Recessed background). The top surface is flat, like a table.

3D Pin: Has continuous contours and curves. The surface is rounded, like a relief sculpture or a coin.
Best Plating: Antique Finish While shiny gold/silver is available, we highly recommend Antique Finishing (Antique Gold, Silver, Bronze, or Copper) for 3D pins.

Why? The antique “wash” settles into the low points of the sculpture, creating dark shadows. This contrast highlights the 3D details. Without it, a shiny 3D pin might just look like a reflective blob under bright light.
