Product Overview
Soft Enamel Pins offer a high-quality look at an affordable price. The manufacturing process involves striking a design into a metal base, electroplating it (gold/silver/black), and then filling the recessed areas with enamel colors. The result is a beautiful contrast between the shiny raised metal lines and the vibrant colors.
Soft Enamel vs. Hard Enamel – What’s the Difference?
-
Soft Enamel (This Product): The enamel is filled slightly lower than the metal borders. When you run your finger over it, you can feel the bumps/texture. It is cheaper and allows for more intricate details.
-
Hard Enamel: The enamel is filled flush with the metal and polished flat. The surface is completely smooth. (Choose Hard Enamel if you want a jewelry-like finish).
Add Epoxy Coating? If you like the price of Soft Enamel but want a smooth surface, you can add an Epoxy Dome (Resin Coating). This clear layer protects the enamel and gives the pin a shiny, bubble-like effect.
